Connections you have made with students

 So far in my placement I have made some connections with students. I am still struggling with learning their names but half these students look very similar to me so it's been a struggle. I have worked one on one with a few students who need a little more help then others. Students were allowed to ask me ant questions after I did my speech so they were able to learn more about me and I was able to do the same with them which I really appreciated. I have learned a lot about them and one of my students let me know that their dad teaches at my next placement so I have a mission to go meet him then.

    It is very hard to learn everyone name. Have you tried pictures? Also, I if you make it a game with them.Try, One class at a time - How many A, B, C, D and so on Class 1 and then Class 2 and so on
    each day have a helper with you help go thru the letters that have names. They love to help.

    Learning names is my biggest struggle too! I walk around with the seating chart, and it helps a little.

Wonders in my teaching ability

When thinking of my teaching abilities, I am still wondering if my lesson and units plans will be up to par for what my students will need when I get into my own classroom. What inspired me to be a Teacher

My inspiration to be a teacher would be from a few different people. My grandfather was a high school drivers ed teacher for many many years before he passed and also coached the high school and a local college football team for years. I saw the impact that he had on my community and I wanted to make that kind of impact also by following in his and my uncles footsteps. I have 3 other teachers in my family  including my uncle, cousin and sister which is something that I have always been very proud of because of the impact I know we are making/going to make for students.  I hope to leave the legacy of being the teacher that made sure my students felt welcomed and knew that they can come to me for problems in school and if they need a listening ear. I want to have a welcoming environment for my students. I know I will need to have an open mindset going into the school year since I have not been in this position of full teaching like this and know that this is a different...

My wellness plan

Looking at what I do for my wellness plan I guess I don't really have one in place because of how busy I always am after school. Playing with my dogs can be part of this I suppose when they are not annoying me to no end. Other than that I watch TV and thats about all I do for my wellness right now. Any tips welcome!!!
