Wonders in my teaching ability
When thinking of my teaching abilities, I am still wondering if my lesson and units plans will be up to par for what my students will need when I get into my own classroom. I am really hoping to have a mentor teacher and a school with a curriculum director ti help me figure all of this out because I know that I will need some guidance in this area. I know that I am 100% capable of doing these and succeeding with them but starting out on my own seems like an intimidating situation that I am curious in how its going to go when I get my first teaching job.
I can completely relate to this. There is just so much information that you want to ensure the students are getting and with a new curriculum, it can be so intimidating that you are designing lessons that are engaging while also including what the curriculum asks to share.
ReplyDeleteI also wonder about what my lesson plans would look like when I have my own classroom. There is so much that you could do in different standards within your subject, so trying to find a lesson that can fit into that can be intimidating.
ReplyDeleteI have had the chance to work in school where everything is scripted and where I had all the freedom to do what I wanted to. I'm sure it will fall into place once you start teaching!
ReplyDeleteAsking about mentors is a good question for an interview but even a school without mentors means you will need to build a support from the people or community around you. You will be surprised of the amount of people wanting to support you to be successful in their community.
